Salam Centre at the “Architecture of Necessity Exibition” – SWEDEN

VIRSERUM ART MUSEUM, SWEDEN

Virserum Art Museum is releasing an international call for an Architecture of Necessity. The call is a demand for a new approach to architecture and construction based on sustainability, equality and responsibility.

After a long and arduous process, we have settled on 42 projects that we feel best encapsulate the Architecture of Necessity. The selected projects will be part of WOOD 2010, Virserum Art Museum’s next major exhibition on wood, wood architecture and sustainable development. All 42 agencies are still in the running for three honorary mentions, to be announced by a jury of internationally renowned architects in August.

The project “Salam Centre for cardiac surgery run by EMERGENCY NGO in Khartoum, Sudan” has been selected.
